In the frame of the 14th Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSD) 4โ6 November 2025 in Sarajevo, the Interreg Danube Region Project DECIDE (Digital Services for Circular Economy โ a Toolbox for Regional Developers & SMEs) held public conference and internal project meeting.The project is coordinated by the Zentrum fรผr Digitalisierung Region Stuttgart โ ZD.BB.
Recognised as a PA8 Danube Flagship Project in July 2024, DECIDE highlights the strategic importance of digital tools and circular economy models for SMEs and regional developers across the Danube Region. The project โ implemented by 16 partners from 10 countries โ aims to advance the circular economy through data-driven and blockchain-based solutions focusing on sectors such as packaging, textiles, food, batteries, and smart cities.
Both PA 8 โCompetitiveness of enterprisesโ coordinators Carmen Hawkins (Baden-Wรผrttemberg) and Karmen Mariฤiฤ (Croatia) highlighted how DECIDE supports digital tools for circular business models, driving a greener and smarter Danube Region and underlined the projectโs contribution to sustainable development and competitiveness in the region.
๐ก The events featured inspiring pilot cases from across the region โ from textile waste management and food waste reduction to biodegradable packaging, biomass energy, and circular innovation. These initiatives demonstrate tangible benefits such as job creation, reduced COโ emissions, and scalable, inclusive business models.
The DECIDE Toolbox, will provide SMEs, start-ups, and business promoters with practical digital services, methods, and best practices to transition towards circular economy models and enhance regional sustainability.
With its collaborative spirit and transnational approach, DECIDE stands as a model of innovation and cooperation in the Danube Region, supporting both green and digital transformation. ๐ฑ๐ป
