In the frame of the 14th Annual Forum of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR), which will take place from November 5th to 6th, 2025 in Sarajevo, Steinbeis Europa Zentrum and Priority Area 8 (PA8) will host the workshop on Lighthouse Initiatives from the Danube Region in the fields of Green Tech, Circular Economy and Circular Bioeconomy on November 6th, 2025 at 9:30 am.
The workshop will highlight how innovations in Green Tech, Circular Economy and Bioeconomy can drive both environmental protection and economic success. These approaches are key to reducing emissions, optimizing resource use, and creating sustainable growth opportunities for businesses in the Danube Region. By rethinking production and consumption patterns, companies can strengthen their competitiveness, support climate goals, and contribute to a resilient regional economy.
Project Presentations:
- Paulina Leiman, CCUBio Baden-Württemberg – showcasing innovative approaches for biological carbon recycling that foster regional sustainability.

- Roman Bahnaru, e-Circular Moldova – presenting circular economy solutions for waste reduction and resource efficiency.

- Mathieu Morival, Neo-Eco Ukraine – introducing green technologies that promote recycling and sustainable material use.
The projects, initiatives and best practices presented were selected as part of a study commissioned by Priority Area 8, implemented by Steinbeis Europa Zentrum, Pannon Business Network (Hungary), and the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia. The study aims to make lighthouse projects in the Danube Region visible and contribute to the exchange of best practices. The finalized study will be published during the event.
Following the presentations, a panel discussion with speakers and attendees will provide space for exchange on how circularity and green technologies can be applied in practice to generate tangible impact. The workshop will conclude with the awarding of EUSDR Priority Area 8 Lighthouse certificates to outstanding initiatives.
