3rd EU MACRO-REGIONAL STRATEGIES WEEK 7-11 March 2022, INVITATION

We are pleased to invite you to participate in the hybrid EU Macro-Regional Strategies Week 2022, organised by the European Commission, Directorate-General for Regional and Urban Policy.

 

The third edition follows the motto Engage, Empower, Evolve centred around three topics: Youth, European Green Deal and Social Change.

 

EU MRS Week will Engage stakeholders from across the four MRS and the EU institutions, to Empower them to take charge of the opportunities MRS offer in order to Evolve their Macro-Regions towards a smart and sustainable future in the 2021-2027 programming period.

The Danube Alliance is pleased to be part of this year’s EU Macro-Regional Strategies Week 2022, organised by the European Commission.

On 10 March from 1:30 to 3 pm, the Danube Alliance, as the EUSDR flagship initiative of Priority Area 8, will present its approach to resilience and digitalisation of bio-based value chains.

 

Good practice approaches for the sustainable development of holistic value networks will also be discussed, for example based on the “Value Chain Generator Tool” (https://alpine-space.org/projects/alplinkbioeco/memo—the-vcg-software-tool/alplinkbioeco_memo_value-chain-generator.pdf ).

Afterwards, there will be the opportunity to discuss together how (macro)regional policy can contribute to the development of sustainable value networks.

 

Special emphasis would be placed on Sessions concerning Priority Area 8;

MONDAY 7th  MARCH 16.10-17.30 – From global to local: How EU macro-regional strategies mobilize people, institutions and funds for the implementation of the European Green Deal

THURSDAY 10th  MARCH 11.00 – 12.30 – S3 interregional cooperation on sustainable blue economy: cross fertilization among macro-regional and sea basin strategies

THURSDAY 10th  MARCH  13.30- 15.00 2 parallel stakeholder sessions:

– Promoting and sustainable growth through cross-macro-regional smart specialization

– How to promote resilience and digitalization of bio-based value chains- to Danube alliance approach
