Online Conference “Women&Men in the Construction sector in the Danube region and beyond: Facing new challenges”

 

Online Conference “Women&Men in the Construction sector in the Danube region and beyond: Facing new challenges” was held on June 9th, 2020. Fifty participants including entrepreneurs and stakeholders from 7 countries including Italy, Serbia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Croatia, Slovakia, Greece, Hungary took part. The Chair of the SG women Entrepreneurship, Dr Sanja Popovic-Pantić, hosted the conference. EEN Sector Groups Sustainable Construction and Intelligent Energy supported the event. The conference was also supported by the European Strategy for the Danube Region, Priority Area 8, and its Working group Female Entrepreneurship. The keynote speakers were Dubravka Negre, Head of EIB (European Investment Bank) Regional Representation for the Western Balkans and Nirvana Kaptan Butković , Coordinator of PA8 EU Strategy for Danube Region, Croatia.

 

The conference aimed to promote the potential of female companies in construction and related sectors including intelligent energy-smart building, projecting, architecture design, exterior styling, interior design, refitting, interior customization, furniture, traffic projecting and architectural branding. The event contributed to establishing better connections between SMEs in construction and related sectors.

 

The online conference was followed by the online B2B Event which was organised and initiated by the Institute “Mihajlo Pupin”. Around 60 participants from 16 countries attended the brokerage event. Co-organizers of the B2B event are: SBA Slovakia, Croatian Chamber of Commerce, Chamber of Commerce and Industry for Győr-Moson-Sopron County, Chamber of Commerce of the Republic of Srpska, Camera di commercio di Bolzano, Chamber of Commerce of North Macedonia, Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Serbia, Federation of Industries of Greece, Chamber of Commerce of Pordenone-Udine, Ss. Cyril and Methodius University in Skopje, Agency for the Promotion of European Research from Italy.
